I have received a delivery notification, but what does it mean?Updated 3 days ago
Some couriers and companies have industry-specific words and abbreviations that they sometimes use when updating the delivery notifications and tracking information. Here are a few examples that may be used by our courier partners:
Abbreviation | Meaning | Description |
ATL | Authority to Leave | When a delivery has been permitted to be left in a safe space, where one is available at the delivery address. |
BTB / RTB | Back / Return to Base | Courier notification of an unsuccessful delivery that has been returned to the distribution centre for processing. |
DIT | Damaged in Transit | Sometimes parcels can have a rougher time in transit than others, which can result in damage. |
CCB | Cold Chain Broken | When your chilled hamper has faced complications in delivery and the quality and freshness has been affected. |
GNR | Goods Not Received | When a parcel has accidentally missed a scheduled run or has not been correctly scanned, it occurs rarely. When it does, we allow up to 48 hours to confirm the parcel's location before taking the next steps. |
LIT | Lost in Transit | Sometimes parcels can unfortunately be misplaced and are lost within the delivery network. |
POD | Proof of Delivery | This refers to the evidence provided by a delivery driver to confirm a delivery's success. It will be either a signature or a photo. |
RTS | Return to Sender | Courier notification of an unsuccessful delivery that has been returned to our warehouse for processing. |
Connote | Consignment Note | This is the shipping label you see on all parcels! It has a barcode for the couriers to scan, as well as all delivery information: recipient name and address, delivery date, ATL status, order ID, etc. |
